Notice of conclusion of "Agreement on Development of Hydroelectric Power Generation and Geothermal Power Generation" with Inawashiro Town, Fukushima Prefecture

We would like to inform you that the following press release has been announced by our parent company, IS Holdings Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Shoji Endo).
We would like to inform you that Inawashiro Town, Fukushima Prefecture and IS Holdings Co., Ltd. have signed an agreement related to Comprehensive collaboration in which IS Holdings Co., Ltd. will prioritize development over other companies in the development of renewable energy, including hydroelectric power generation*1 and geothermal power generation*2 in Inawashiro Town, Fukushima Prefecture(Mayor: Hiroshi Zengo).
The agreement also stipulates that IS Holdings Co., Ltd. will be comprehensively responsible for the development of the area in front of Inawashiro Station and the revitalization of the hot spring area.
Based on the conclusion of this agreement, IS Holdings Co., Ltd. will continue to respond to the mandate from Inawashiro Town, focus on the development of hydroelectric and geothermal power generation, and work to solve the problems facing the region.
*1 Hydroelectric power generation is one of the renewable energies, and it is also a clean energy that does not emit CO2 during power generation. Compared to other renewable energies such as solar and wind power that are affected by weather conditions, it is also characterized by the ability to stably generate power regardless of natural conditions and the ability to adjust the amount of power generated except for the risk of drought.
*2 Geothermal power generation is a renewable energy that emits almost zero CO2 and can generate power sustainably. It is also a "baseload power source" that can stably generate power without being affected by natural conditions such as weather. Geothermal power generation also benefits the local economy, as the hot water used for power generation can be used for greenhouse cultivation.
